Interestingly, Hitwise notes that mobile phone recycling is not always performed solely for altruistic environmental reasons. This can be proved by the quadrupling of keyword terms that couple the financial benefits with phone recycling. Instances where there has been the massive growth are “recycle mobile phones for cash” and “recycling for cash”.
